A Robot Vacuum Cleaner At Your Bidding
Monday, March 16th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedYou knew it woud happen eventually, and it has! Today at least one part of all those futuristic shows has become a reality around the house. Well, don’t ditch your vacuum cleaner just yet, but yes, you can take it easy and unwind while the vacuuming gets done automatically, courtesy of the floor robot vacuum cleaner.
It has forever been a desire of humans to learn ways to make living simpler by removing laborious chores. A robot is a machine that does not call for direct manual supervision to alter its behavior or activity according to situational dynamics. A robot vacuum cleaner executes this by performing the vacuuming without a human being present. You don’t even have to be in the area since many can be triggered with a cell phone or on the internet.
The latest robotic technology is employed to help the robot vaccuum cleaner do its job. It can actually sense or see any soil on the rug or floor, then determines how many passes over the area are necessary to make it clean. The models that are available now are pretty small, purposely, so that they can go under beds and settees.
The robot is programmed totravel around objects, or to turn back when it comes to the end of the room. How this is done hinges upon the model of robot you have. The more expensive models use infrared or ultrasonic methods to keep from banging into firm boundries. Less expensive models stop only after banging into the obstacle. Rubber bumpers are essential on these to avoid damaging the vacuum or your furniture and walls.
The robot vacuum cleaner does its chore quite well. It will have some problems in corners and on the baseboards. This robot does a great job with standard household cleaning. But tight areas will still have to be cleaned by you.
Other problem areas include fringed rugs and stairs. The current models cannot negotiate stairs. And programming still can’t help most of them determine that fringe will get drawn inside and make them shut down. But as with all troubles, answers will be forthcoming in the not to distant future.
The floor robot vacuum cleaners that are on the market now can deal with all kinds of floor surfaces, and work well on carpets too. Cat hair and moisture are not a problem, since the new machines are programmed to notice these things in addition to regular dirt.
A robot vacuum cleaner has a built-in rechargable battery. When the battery charge is reduced, you’ll get an alarm informing you it’s time to recharge. You can even be free of this chore by getting a model that automatically returns to it’s charging dock when required. The amount you pay will of course be decided by the amount of features you want. The prices range from easily affordable to “Wow that is expensive.”
The greatest advantage of the robot floor cleaner is that it releases you from diverting your time and attention to this everyday task. If you consider it this way, the robot floor cleaner saves you time. Yes the robot takes longer than a human to do the job. The best thing is to start it when you go to work. When you return, you’ll be returning to clean floors.
Ah yes, there’s also the small task of emptying the robot floor cleaner which is still your responsibility. But this is just a small irritant compared to the rewards of having a robot do your vacuuming for you. Not only does a robot vacuum cleaner save you your time, it frees you from that feeling of drudgery that is part and parcel of doing the identical task, day in and day out.
